Gakutei was a poet who added his humorous poems to many of his woodblock prints. More than ten of these poem-prints featured flowers and (or) birds. Thirteen examples are shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Gakutei’s drawing style was similar to that of his ukiyo teachers Hokkei Totoya and Hokusai Katsushika.
